Bio

Todd Delain is currently the Chief Deputy of the Brown County Sheriff's Office. In 1990 he began his long career of service in the United States Army as a Counter-Intelligence Special Agent. While in the Army he participated in the Persian Gulf War (Desert Shield/Desert Storm) and Operation Uphold Democracy in Haiti.


In 1995 he completed his Army enlistment and accepted a position as a Correctional Officer for the State of Wisconsin. As a State of Wisconsin Correctional Officer he worked at Green Bay Correctional Institution and the Wisconsin Resource Center in Oshkosh, WI.


In 1996 (about 22 years ago) he began his career with the Brown County Sheriff's Office. As a member of the Sheriff's Office he has worked in the Brown County Jail, within the Patrol Division as both a Patrol Deputy and Sergeant and undercover as a Narcotics Investigator in the Brown County Drug Task Force. He was a member of the Brown County SWAT team, Mobile Field Force and Unified Tactics Training Team. For the past 7+ years he has been the Chief Deputy. The Chief Deputy is the second highest ranking person at the Sheriff's Office, directly under Sheriff Gossage who appointed him.


He has an Associates and Bachelor's Degree of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master's Degree of Science in Management and Organizational Behavior. Additionally, he has a Graduate Certificate of Achievement in Criminal Justice from the University of Virginia. 


He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and has completed the Penn State University Police Officer Executive Development Program. He has completed both the Missing Children's and Exploited Children's Seminar for Chief Executives at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in Alexandria, Virginia. 


Chief Deputy Delain is currently the Vice-President of the FBI National Academy Associates - Wisconsin Chapter. In June of 2018, he will be the President. He was elected to this position by other Wisconsin graduates of the FBI National Academy, who are typically Police Chiefs, Sheriff's and other command level law enforcement officers throughout the State of Wisconsin.


He is a member of the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Training & Standards Bureau, Leadership and Management Advisory Committee for Law Enforcement. Locally, he is on the Executive Board of Directors for the Brown County Community Coordinated Response Team for Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence, the Brown County Fire Investigation Task Force and the Brown County Crime Prevention Foundation. 


Todd grew up in Brown County and graduated Green Bay Preble High School. He is currently a member of the Desert Veterans of Wisconsin and the American Legion Post 11, Green Bay.


Todd cares deeply about his family. He and Jeanne have been married for about 25 years and have three wonderful children!
